Don a pair of waders and step into the Ausable River to take a new kind of journey. Riverwalking will allow you to discover the joy of being in moving water, feel the flowing current, and take in the sounds of the river and the beauty of the Sentinel Range of the Adirondack Mountains.
Our guides will be there every step of the way to assist in opening your senses to the sights, sounds, smells, textures and tastes of the river. Take the time to slow down, unplug, and disconnect; let the river take over, its calming sounds clearing your mind, as you slowly become invigorated, yet relaxed during this unique wellness experience in the Adirondack Mountains.
Guided Riverwalking trips will be offered July 1 to September 4, 2017 every Thursday and Saturday from 8:30 to 11:00am (ending time may extend up to 30 minutes). Riverwalking prices are $65 for adults and $55 for children (ages 12 and up only). Waders and wading boots are available for rental for $15 per person. Pre-registration is required and all trips must be booked a minimum 24 hours in advance.
If you're interested in reserving a group Riverwalking experience, we request that groups are limited to a maximum of eight people. Contact us if you would like to book an exclusive Riverwalking outing for your group.
LOCATION + MEETING PLACE
Our Riverwalking location on the Ausable River is just two miles outside the village of Lake Placid. We meet at a designated area nearby to keep the amount of traffic to a minimum in an effort to protect the natural environment. After registering, you will receive directions to our meeting place, which is just a short drive away from where the Riverwalking experience begins.
MORE ABOUT RIVERWALKING
Riverwalking came into existence here in the Adirondacks in 2016 - but the idea of Riverwalking was several years in the making and, of course, can all be attributed to the beauty and calming nature of the river. Learn more about us, how we came to be, and more about the known benefits of both Riverwalking and Forest Bathing.
