Forest Bathing & Restorative Yoga Day Retreat Sunday May 6, 2018 9:30am – 4:30 pm Lake Titus, NY Rediscover the timelessness of just being. We will begin with a sensory walk in the forest, inviting you through a series of brief ever-changing activities, to immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, smells and textures of nature. Following a “brown bag lunch” and discussion about how nature practices improve our wellbeing, enjoy an hour for personal reflection and exploration. We will regroup for a restorative yoga practice outdoors (weather permitting), and wrap up with sharing nature practices you can take home. Become the Change...A Retreat for Women Wednesday May 16 to Sunday May 20, 2018 Mt Van Hoevenberg Cabins, Lake Placid, NY Becoming the change we want to see in the world requires us to develop and maintain our connection with ourselves and our sense of purpose, with each other for mutual support and community, and with nature for inspiration and strength. In this retreat you will learn practices that support you in your ability to maintain connection in your daily life, as well as skills and knowledge to deal with the challenges that get in your way.

Nature connection practices through sensory immersion (Forest Bathing) and nature journaling,
Simple and gentle yoga postures, breathing and mental imagery practices,
Inquiry techniques to clear negative beliefs and distracting thought patterns,
Work with Archetypes to avoid taking things personally,
Non-Violent Communication and Council techniques to heal and strengthen relationships,
Unstructured time every day for personal reflection and integration,
Opportunities for private sessions with the presenters,

Johanna Messer is the author of A Manual for Living Your Own Life, which was borne from her passion to share the practices and techniques that were most effective in her own personal journey to heal herself from Lyme disease, as well as helping her students reach their potential. A teacher in public and private schools for over 20 years, she now leads workshops and programs to help others learn practical skills to improve communication, reduce stress and redirect their energy towards achieving their goals. Helene Gibbens started on her own personal wholeness journey at 20, which fueled her passion to share with others what she learns. A Massage Therapist in Montreal for 10 years, she developed stress management programs for clients and organizations. After moving to the Adirondacks in 2000, she opened a yoga center where she has been teaching yoga, meditation and wellness for the community and for NCCC students. She is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, NY State Hiking Guide License and holds the highest designation with Yoga Alliance, ERYT-500.
