ADIRONDACK LAKE & FOREST WALKING Explore the common and contrasting sensations between land and water.
Picture it now: You are walking through an evergreen forest on a bright summer day surrounded by bird songs and the scent of the evergreens. You feel the warmth of the sun on your skin as you step into the cool lake water, the sandy bottom giving slightly under your feet. You feel the contrasts and commonalities between lake and forest. Your Adirondack Lake and Forest guide is allowing you to slow down, helping you open your senses to a new way of experiencing nature.
Our Lake and Forest guided trip is a sensory immersion in nature. Through a series of sensory activities on land and in water, you are invited to open yourself to all of the sights, sounds, smells, textures and tastes of nature. We cover little distance on gentle terrain, making the practice accessible to everyone with a pair of water shoes, 8 years and up.
No goals, no destination. It's all about the journey.
More than two decades of research studies describe a wide range of health benefits from the practice of sensory immersion in nature including lowered blood pressure, reduced stress, a stronger immune system, reduced anxiety and greater attention and concentration.
