At Adirondack Riverwalking, an essential part of our mission is to bring nature therapy into schools, to educators and students.
Nature Therapy is a wellness practice that focuses on utilizing all of our five external senses to develop a deeper, more intimate relationship with nature. There are many ways in which we benefit: Directed Attention Restoration, greater sense of relaxation, relief from anxiety, a more positive attitude and a stronger immune system. More than two decades of studies in Japan and around the world document the essential health benefits of spending time in nature, as well as re-greening our indoor spaces.
Because Nature Therapy has an important contribution to make to the mental health and overall wellbeing of educators and their students, grades 1 to 12, we provide workshops, tools and support to introduce Nature Therapy into the mental health curriculum of your school. Our services include:
Nature Therapy Immersions as a way to introduce educators to the practice tailored to the needs of each school, grade, group size, and available time.
Educator Workshops that provide skills, tools and information on how to bring Nature Therapy into their own lives and the lives of their students’.

This tool will make it easy for you to lead Nature Therapy experiences with your students, indoors and outdoors.
