An essential part of our mission is to bring nature and sensory practices to children, schools and families in the Adirondack Park.
Nature Sensory-based Learning can facilitate children's learning, provide new life skills, encourage more time out of doors and a closer relationship with nature to foster lasting culture change and reduce addiction to technology.
Nature Sensory-based Learning is a wellness practice that focuses on utilizing all of our five external senses to develop a deeper, more intimate relationship with nature. There are many ways in which we benefit: Directed Attention Restoration, greater sense of relaxation, relief from anxiety, a more positive attitude and a stronger immune system. More than two decades of studies in Japan and around the world document the essential health benefits of spending time in nature, as well as re-greening our indoor spaces.
Because Nature Sensory-based Learning has an important contribution to make to the mental health and overall wellbeing of teachers and their students, grades 1 to 12, we provide workshops, tools and support to introduce Nature Therapy into the curriculum of your school.
Our services include:
Nature Sensory Immersions as a way to introduce teachers to the practice tailored to the needs of each school, grade, group size, and available time.
